Onetime pw via Email not send

Hi there,
I use privacyIdea version 2.23.2 on a Ubuntu 16 Linux. I’ve configured an SMTP-Server and tested it successful. The privacyIdea get the users from my nextcloud. That’s all fine.

Now I want to use a onetime password via Email. So I create a token and put in an emailaddress. If I try to login to the nextcloud I get the view to put in the otp.

The problem is, that the email with the code isn’t send.

I think, I forget to set some configuration, but I don’t know where.

Can someone help me?

Thanks a lot!

Michael

Hi Michael,

welcome to the privacyIDEA community!
You probably forgot to configure the SMTP Server to be used for EMail Tokens.

Got to Config->Tokens->Email and set the smtp configuration.
https://privacyidea.readthedocs.io/en/latest/configuration/tokenconfig/email.html#email-otp-token

Kind regards
Cornelius

Hi Cornelius,
thanks a lot for your answer. The SMTP-Server ist configured and tested (send a testmail…). The token is also configured…
I don’t know, what to do???
Michael

Hi Michael,
then you need to read the logs.
Maybe in debug mode.
Kind regards

Ah, Nextcloud.
Then the token sending is not triggered. You need to have a trigger admin configured in the privacyIDEA owncloud app.

But I am not sure, if this works with nextcloud. Exspecially since to my knowledge nextcloud started to change the naming of the internal classes to get rid of the OC prefix, which breaks the compatiblity of plugins/apps.

Kind regards
Cornelius

Hi Cornelius,
the tip with the trigger admin was perfect. Now it works fine.
Thanks a lot!
Michael
